Holiday party and Laikapella

Here's some photos of me at the Laika holiday party on Saturday, singing in Laika's acapella group. Cleverly named Laikapella. I'm in white if you can't recognize me without my glasses, like most of the drinkers that night.

I like this one of Chris looking nice and smiley while the guys singing backup behind him look silly.

new pet!

Joe went out to get groceries tonight, and came home with a pet rat as an early Christmas present. She's super friendly and didn't mind being picked up and held. And it didn't phase her in the slightest when Jingle came up to smell her either. She actually stuck her nose out of the cage to take a good look at the cat.

Jingle didn't care for that and got freaked out and ran away.

"Oh hey guys, what's up?"

Me and my new buddy.

Nice preening pose.

Time to explore.

We're still deciding on good names right now....will post some video later of Jingle meeting her for the first time.

Weekend in Dallas

Spent a fun weekend in Dallas, TX...where the weather is finally getting tolerable as November hits! The weather was really pleasant, we checked out Wizard World even tho they didn't have Parable there, and just had fun hanging out with each other.

Baby Hazel

The floor at the comic-con

The most hilarious shirt I found there. This is actually a painting by Alex Ross.

This dude was selling awesome hats. I should have gone back and bought the penguin hat for skiing.

The group having fun being nerdy! Thanks to Sarah and Stephen for hosting us...and it was great meeting Mike and the other Stephen in person finally!

Off to Dallas

I'm taking a trip to Dallas this weekend to visit some friends and to promote the Parable anthology that I worked on last year. More details can be seen here: http://www.parablecomic.com/

We were supposed to sit at the booth at Dallas Wizard World and get the word out with them, but some mess up with the printers happened, and now there's no book or booth. Ooops. Oh well, even if we don't end up going to the con at least I'll be able to visit with good friends and get some of that good ol' Texas sunshine.

Girl's weekend 2008!

The Santa Cruz weekend in August reminded me and my former college roommates how much we missed being together and causing trouble, so we decided to get together for a quick weekend in Chicago.

The Girls!

The Chinatown Hotel, where we stayed.

Chinatown Square.

We ate tons of good food.

Saturday morning = cupcakes for breakfast!!!!
Then, on to the city!
The Art Institute Museum was the first stop.

The girls ponder strange modern art.
Saturday night = We hit up 'Howl at the Moon', a great dueling piano bar. Jen ponders life over a bucket of bud's.

We literally drank buckets of alcohol. The buckets say 'the most fun you'll have with your clothes on!'
Chicago at night.

Sunday morning before boarding a long plane ride home - on the Shedd Aquarium, where giant octopi live on the ceiling!!!!

The end!

Maid of Honor Amber looked so pretty....

The best man looked pretty good too!

So happy!

Sister of the Groom read a really touching poem...made me and my girls cry like babies.

Photographer extraordinaire Amy Binnie Martin!

The fabulous Jen Price, Superstar.

Mmmmm....cake...

Best bride picture EVER.

View from the beach house we partied at! We saw whales spouting off in the distance.

My girls and I all tired and sunburned after a great day.
